When we last left ya homegirl she had signed her life away and dropped $500 odd dollars on a trip she wasn't even sure about.. love that for her.
Lets get cracking back into it. So I had put my trip on hold and was still lost, super lost. I looked into the company a little more and to be honest I was worried. There were reviews on people going overseas on working holidays with no jobs lined up and not getting refunds etc etc. I ran this past a few friends with a niggly feeling that essentially I had gotten scammed.
Out of this experience a new plan had been born. A Close friend and I were going to do the cut and paste basic girls dream and head to Europe! Work in a bar on the Greek island of Ios and then go as far as wee could with whatever money we had. Italy, Germany, France, Egypt, Spain you name it we were going to give it a nudge. We started doing our research and laying down some plans (We even had a communal google document, this was real!). A few months down the track my Friend was offered an amazing opportunity that she needed to take for her personal development which unfortunately meant our trip was no longer feasible.
Back to the drawing board I remembered the trip to Vietnam and thought "Yeah, why not". I gave them a call and explained all the concerns I had previously had and they answered all my questions which instantly put me at ease (working holidays are not guaranteed a job, just job opportunities (interviews) however teaching abroad is promised a placement). This explanation was good enough for me, so I paid the remaining amount of the trip and I was ready to start saving to move my life!
So at this point I had around eight months to save enough money to fund this adventure of an absolute lifetime.
Summary: Girl dumped, sad, impulsively signs up to something, instantly regrets it, makes a new plan, that falls through, goes back to original plan, still unsure about what she's gotten herself into but loves a commitment.
